Essentially it is a tourism management strategy in which the tourism sector and tourists take mutual responsibility to protect and conserve the natural environment, local heritage, cultures and traditions. It is also about providing better holiday experiences for guests through sustainable business opportunities for tourism enterprises, which in turn contribute to stronger local economies through providing livelihoods and generating revenues for environmental conservation and management.
